What to do After Getting Your Minneapolis Carpets Cleaned

Carpet cleaning is great for making your carpets look new and maintaining a clean home. Keeping that carpet cleaned can be a whole different story. In between carpet cleanings, be sure to follow these simple steps to keep your Minneapolis carpets looking great.

Wait until it’s dry

Before you do anything with your newly cleaned carpets, it’s important to let it dry. In traditional cleaning methods, it will take your carpet anywhere from 6 to 12 hours before it is dry enough to move your furniture back or remove the protection measures put in place without damaging your furniture. Our carpet cleaning method does not use an excessive amount of water to clean the carpets. You will be able to return your furniture back onto your carpets after we have finished cleaning. 

Wear socks

It is best to not walk on your carpets after a carpet cleaning. However, that is not always possible for everyone. If you have to walk on the carpet while it is drying, always wear socks. Shoes will leave dirt behind, but your feet will leave oils behind. Your body’s natural oils can tint your carpets to make it look dirty and attract dirt to stick onto your cleaned carpets. Wearing socks or indoor slippers will help keep your carpets looking clean after it dries. 

Vacuum excess cleaner

In most professional cases, excess cleaner will not be an issue, but there is still a possibility that some cleaner will be left behind. Cleaning solution that is not completely removed from your carpets will look like white flakes or dust after your carpet is dry. Vacuum up the leftover cleaning solution before putting your furniture back onto your carpets.

Blot new stains quickly

Accidents happen even after you get your carpets cleaned. If something spills or an animal causes a stain, tend to it quickly before it starts to set. The best way to get rid of stains is to dab on the area instead of rubbing so that the stain will not go further into the carpet.
